Water management in agriculture

The Trustees of the Jack Wright Memorial Trust again invite applications for travel awards in the year 2008.

One or more scholarships, with a maximum value of up to £1750, are awarded every year to support young people wishing to travel overseas to study aspects of water management in agriculture, including irrigation. This is an exciting opportunity from which many people have benefited in the past.

The successful applicants will have prepared a well thought out and costed proposal, which highlights how they, and the wider community, will benefit from the award. Short-listed candidates will be asked to defend their proposal at interview.

For further details please write to:

The Trustees also administer an award of £500 on behalf of the United Kingdom Irrigation Association (www.ukia.org). The focus of this must be an aspect of irrigation likely to benefit the UK irrigation industry.

This Scholarship is usually awarded separately but, in special circumstances, may be added to the Jack Wright Memorial Trust award.

THE CLOSING DATE FOR ALL APPLICATIONS IS:

3rd March 2008

Interviews will be held later in the month usually in London

No late applications will be accepted.
